wich is twice that of your regular ole Bryers in your freezer. I also fixed the owners manual instructions to the maker I got for Xmas. Also...I avoided a potentially stupid DUI. (story)
So there I was cleaning up after dinner and I pop open a beer to enjoy for the evening. I'm helping my daughter pour ice into the ice cream maker as it spins (Mmm delicious possibility of mint chocolate chip) and we run out of freezer ice maker ice. Crap! I think, and grab the keys, alert the wife to the predicament and make a 7 minute run to buy a 10 pound bag of ice for $1.88. I return home and realize that had anything gone wrong on that trip, the cops would have seen a stratospheric breathalyzer after noticing the smell of beer. Seeing how I just had two sips from a bottle before jumping in the car on semi-wintery roads. I can see it now:
PoPo: "Sir, have you been drinking?"
Jalopnaut: "Just a few sips sir, I had to go on a fast...er..quick run to get ice...for...my ice cream maker....im makingicecreamwithmydaughter...yeah"
PoPo: "you're under arrest for being the stupidest liar pants on fire ever...oh emm gee....!"
Needless to say, nothing bad happened, the ice cream maker is freezing up nicely and I am home safe and sound. whew!

Oh...were I in college.....
One of my 'temporary' roommates was so desparate for money. He was a true alcoholic. We gave him 3 bucks to drink a whole PapaJohns garlic butter dipping cup.

Yeah I added it all up. I did all the math to figure out what is in heavy whipping cream and whole milk and half n half and what not. It makes 4 qts (1 gal) and then went to the freezer to see the almost empty box of stuff we had in there and compare. Christ this is a once in a while special occasion thing to make thats for sure..especially since it takes a few hours to make it.

Where do you get whole cream? There's no local store I know in the Tampa Bay area of that sells ice-cream-making sized quantities of whole cream.

Recipie calls for whipping cream....so in your grocery there should be cartons of heavy whipping cream. use that. half n half as well and it calls for milk. so i used whole milk. also...jesus...2000 calories of sugar (2.5 cups of it dissolved into that milk scalded)
